Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Floor jack and jack stands
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Transmission fluid
    • Drain pan
    • Cleaning cloths
  • Raise the vehicle using a floor jack and secure it with jack stands.
2. Drain Transmission Fluid
  • Place a drain pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan using a socket set.
  • Carefully lower the pan and allow the fluid to drain completely into the pan.
3. Inspect and Replace Gasket/Seals
  • Inspect the old transmission pan gasket for damage or wear; replace it if necessary.
  • Clean the mating surfaces of the transmission and the pan thoroughly to ensure a proper seal.
  • If necessary, replace any worn seals on the cooler lines and dipstick tube.
4. Reinstall Transmission Pan
  • Position the new or cleaned gasket on the transmission pan.
  • Carefully lift the pan back into place and align it with the bolt holes.
  • Hand-tighten the bolts, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer’s specifications (typically around 8-10 Nm).
5. Refill Transmission Fluid
  • Locate the transmission fluid dipstick or fill plug.
  • Using a funnel, refill the transmission with the appropriate type of fluid (consult the owner’s manual for specifications).
  • Start the engine and shift through all gears to circulate the fluid.
  • Check the fluid level again and add more if necessary.
