Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools (wrenches, oil pressure gauge, OBD-II scanner).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Allow the engine to cool before proceeding.
2. Check and Top Off Engine Oil
  • Sub-step 1: Open the hood and locate the dipstick.
  • Sub-step 2: Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, and reinsert it.
  • Sub-step 3: Remove the dipstick again and check the oil level. If low, add the recommended oil type to the oil filler cap.
  • Sub-step 4: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to circulate the oil, then check the oil level again.
3. Replace Oil Filter
  • Sub-step 1: Use an oil wrench to remove the existing oil filter.
  • Sub-step 2: Lubricate the rubber O-ring on the new oil filter with clean engine oil.
  • Sub-step 3: Install the new oil filter, tightening it by hand until snug, then give it an additional 3/4 turn.
4. Inspect and Replace Oil Pump (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 1: Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety.
  • Sub-step 2: Drain the engine oil from the oil pan by removing the drain plug.
  • Sub-step 3: Remove the oil pump from its housing by unbolting it and disconnecting any attached components.
  • Sub-step 4: Install the new oil pump, ensuring proper alignment and torque specifications are followed.
5. Refill Engine Oil
  • Sub-step 1: Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Sub-step 2: Refill the engine with the recommended oil type and quantity.
  • Sub-step 3: Start the engine and check for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug.
