Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
  • Allow the vehicle to sit for a while to cool down if previously driven.
2. Remove the EPS Control Module
  • Locate the EPS control module, typically found near the steering column.
  • Disconnect any electrical connectors carefully.
  • Remove the mounting bolts using a socket set.
  • Carefully extract the control module from its housing.
3. Inspect and Replace the EPS Motor (if necessary)
  • If the motor is faulty, disconnect the power and ground wires from the motor.
  • Remove the motor mounting bolts.
  • Install the new EPS motor by reversing the removal steps.
  • Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Reinstall the EPS Control Module
  • Position the control module back into its housing.
  • Secure it with mounting bolts and reconnect all electrical connectors.
  • Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
5. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the vehicle and check for proper EPS function.
  • Test drive to ensure the steering is responsive and smooth.
