Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery by removing the negative terminal to avoid electrical shorts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to prevent burns.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Use a socket wrench to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
    2. Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Access the Ignition Coil
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the ignition coil on the engine (typically on top of the engine near the spark plugs).
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab.
4. Remove the Faulty Ignition Coil
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket wrench.
    2. Gently pull the ignition coil straight out of the spark plug well.
5. Install the New Ignition Coil
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil.
    2. Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well until it is seated properly.
    3. Secure the ignition coil with the bolt(s) removed earlier and tighten to the manufacturer's specifications (usually around 10 Nm).
6. Reconnect Electrical Connector
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Connect the electrical connector to the new ignition coil until it clicks into place.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Position the engine cover back onto the engine.
    2. Secure it with the bolts removed earlier, tightening them appropriately.
8. Reconnect the Battery
  • Reattach the negative terminal of the battery.
