Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked with the ignition off.
  • Disconnect the battery if working on electrical components.

Tools Required:

  • OBD-II scanner (if needed)
  • Small flathead screwdriver (for battery replacement)
  • Replacement key fob battery (CR2032 or similar, verify before replacement)
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the old battery and note the orientation for the new battery.
  3. Insert the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  1. Sit in the driver's seat with the key fob.
  2. Insert the key fob into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  3. Press the "Unlock" button on the key fob for about 10 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition key back to the "OFF" position and remove the key fob from the ignition.
  5. Test the key fob functions by pressing the lock/unlock buttons.
4. Additional Programming (if necessary)
  1. If the key fob still does not work, connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
  2. Follow the scanner's instructions to access the key fob programming menu.
  3. Select the option to add or program a new key fob, and follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. Complete the programming process and verify successful registration.
