1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and new key fob battery (typically a CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe area and you have access to the car.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Be cautious to avoid damaging the internal components.
3. Replace the Battery

  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive side (+) is facing up.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press the two halves together until they click securely.
  • Ensure there are no gaps or loose parts.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Sit in the driver's seat and ensure all doors are closed.
  • Insert the key fob into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine.
  • Press the unlock button on the key fob for a few seconds, then turn the ignition off and remove the key fob.
  • Test the key fob to see if it now functions properly.
