Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool before starting.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check Fuel System
  • Fuel Pressure Test:
    1. Connect a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
    2. Turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine to check the pressure.
      • Desired pressure: Refer to your service manual for specifications.
    3. If the pressure is low, inspect the fuel pump and fuel filter for issues.
3. Clean or Replace Throttle Body
  • Throttle Body Service:
    1. Remove the intake duct to access the throttle body.
    2. Disconnect the throttle body connector.
    3. Unbolt the throttle body and remove it from the intake manifold.
    4. Clean the throttle body using throttle body cleaner and a soft brush.
    5. Reinstall the throttle body and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Spark Plug Inspection:
    1. Remove the ignition coil cover.
    2. Disconnect the ignition coils and remove them from the spark plug wells.
    3. Remove the spark plugs using a socket and ratchet.
    4. Inspect the spark plugs for wear; replace if necessary.
    5. Reinstall new spark plugs, torquing to manufacturer specifications (usually around 15 Nm).
5. Idle Air Control Valve Cleaning
  • IACV Cleaning:
    1. Locate the idle air control valve (IACV) near the throttle body.
    2. Remove the IACV from its mounting.
    3. Clean the valve with appropriate cleaner and a cloth.
    4. Reinstall the IACV and ensure it is securely fastened.
