Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues.
2. Check and Refill Brake Fluid
  • Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  • If the fluid level is low, top it up with the manufacturer-recommended brake fluid (DOT 4).
  • Reconnect the battery after servicing.
3. Inspect and Repair Vacuum Booster
  • Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.
  • Check for any blockages in the vacuum line and replace if necessary.
  • If the brake booster is faulty, remove it by unbolting it from the master cylinder and disconnecting it from the firewall.
  • Install the new brake booster, ensuring proper alignment and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
4. Replace Master Cylinder (if necessary)
  • If the master cylinder is found to be faulty during the pressure test, remove it by disconnecting the brake lines and unbolting it from the brake booster.
  • Replace it with a new master cylinder, ensuring to bench bleed it before installation to eliminate any air in the system.
  • Reattach brake lines and torque to manufacturer specifications.
5. Bleed the Brake System
  • Begin bleeding the brake system from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder.
  • Use a brake bleeder kit or have an assistant pump the brake pedal while you open and close the bleeder valves.
  • Ensure all air bubbles are removed from the system.
