Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety while working.
2. Raise the Vehicle
  • Use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and secure with jack stands.
  • Remove the front wheels using a socket set.
3. Remove Old Tie Rod Ends
  • Locate the tie rod ends on the steering knuckle and use a wrench to remove the retaining nut.
  • Use a tie rod puller to separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Avoid damaging the boot.
  • Unscrew the tie rod end from the inner tie rod using a wrench.
4. Install New Tie Rod Ends
  • Apply anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new tie rod end.
  • Screw the new tie rod end onto the inner tie rod, tightening to the manufacturer's specified torque (check service manual for exact value).
  • Reattach the tie rod end to the steering knuckle and secure it with the retaining nut, tightening to the specified torque.
5. Align the Steering
  • Reinstall the wheels and lower the vehicle.
  • Perform a wheel alignment to ensure proper steering geometry and tire wear.
