Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
2. Remove the Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen the wheel nuts slightly while the vehicle is on the ground.
  • Lift the vehicle with a jack and secure it on jack stands.
  • Fully remove the wheel nuts and take off the wheel.
3. Inspect and Remove Brake Pads
  • Locate the brake caliper and use a socket set to remove the caliper bolts.
  • Carefully slide the caliper off the brake rotor without stressing the brake line.
  • Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.
4. Install New Brake Pads
  • Apply brake grease to the back of the new brake pads to prevent noise.
  • Insert the new brake pads into the caliper bracket in the correct orientation.
  • Reinstall the brake caliper over the new pads and secure it with the caliper bolts to the manufacturer’s specified torque.
5. Reassemble Wheel and Lower Vehicle
  • Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle and then torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer's specifications.
6. Bleed Brakes (if necessary)
  • If the brake fluid was contaminated or lines were opened, bleed the brake system to ensure no air is present.
  • Use a brake bleeder kit to remove air from the brake lines.
