Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Lint-free cloth or paper towel
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off for a few minutes.
2. Locate and Remove the Dipstick
  • Open the hood and secure it with the prop rod.
  • Locate the engine oil dipstick, identifiable by its bright handle.
  • Pull the dipstick out of the tube.
3. Clean and Reinsert the Dipstick
  • Wipe the dipstick clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel to ensure an accurate reading.
  • Reinsert the dipstick fully back into its tube to allow it to settle.
4. Check Oil Level
  • Remove the dipstick once again and observe the oil level against the markings.
  • Ensure the oil level is between the "min" and "max" indicators on the dipstick.
  • If the level is below "min", oil needs to be added.
5. Assess Oil Quality
  • Examine the oil on the dipstick for color and texture.
  • If the oil appears dark and dirty or has a gritty texture, it may need to be changed.
