Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, fuel pressure gauge, cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts during service.
2. Check and Replace Ignition Components
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the engine cover to access the ignition coils.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the ignition coils.
    3. Remove the bolts securing the coils and lift them out.
    4. Inspect spark plugs and replace if worn (gap to specs: usually around 0.032 inches).
    5. Reinstall new or cleaned ignition coils and reconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Clean Throttle Body
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the throttle body and remove the intake duct connected to it.
    2. Use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth to clean the inside of the throttle body.
    3. Reassemble the intake duct securely.
4. Inspect and Replace Fuel Filter (if applicable)
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the fuel filter (may be integrated with the fuel pump).
    2. Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
    3. Disconnect fuel lines (use safety glasses) and remove the old filter.
    4. Install the new fuel filter, ensuring correct orientation and connections.
5. Check Transmission Fluid
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the transmission dipstick (if applicable).
    2. Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level and condition (should be a bright red color).
    3. If low or dirty, drain the fluid, replace the filter, and refill with the correct fluid type as per the manufacturer’s specifications.
