Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
  • Disconnect the battery to avoid electrical issues.

Tools Required:

  • Jack and jack stands
  • Lug wrench
  • Torque wrench
  • Socket set
  • Brake cleaner
  • C-clamp (for compressing calipers)
2. Remove Wheel
  1. Loosen lug nuts slightly while the vehicle is on the ground.
  2. Lift the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  3. Remove the lug nuts completely and take off the wheel.
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Pads
  1. Remove the caliper bolts using a socket.
  2. Carefully lift the caliper away from the rotor. Do not hang it by the brake line.
  3. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper bracket.
  4. Inspect the brake pad backing for wear indicators; replace if they are worn.
  5. Apply brake lubricant to the back of the new brake pads before installation.
  6. Insert the new brake pads into the caliper bracket.
4. Inspect and Replace Brake Rotors (if necessary)
  1. Check the rotor surface for grooves or scoring.
  2. If the rotor is damaged or below the minimum thickness specification, remove it by unscrewing the retaining screws.
  3. Install the new rotor, making sure it is properly seated and secured.
5. Reassemble Brake Components
  1. Compress the brake caliper piston using a C-clamp to allow space for the new pads.
  2. Reattach the caliper over the new brake pads.
  3. Tighten caliper bolts to manufacturer specifications (usually around 25-35 Nm).
  4. Reinstall the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
6. Final Steps
  1. Lower the vehicle back to the ground and fully tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern to ensure even torque (typically 100-120 Nm).
  2. Reconnect the battery.
  3. Pump the brake pedal several times to ensure the brake pads are properly seated.
