Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Check and Replace Transmission Fluid
  • Locate the transmission dipstick or fill plug.
  • Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
  • Insert it back and remove it again to check fluid level.
  • If low, add the appropriate transmission fluid as specified in the owner's manual.
  • If the fluid is burnt or contaminated, proceed to change it.
3. Replace Transmission Filter
  • Raise the vehicle securely on jack stands.
  • Remove the transmission pan bolts using a socket set.
  • Carefully lower the pan and drain the fluid into a pan.
  • Remove the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly.
  • Clean the transmission pan and install a new gasket.
4. Reassemble and Fill Transmission
  • Reattach the transmission pan with the specified torque for the bolts.
  • Fill the transmission with the correct type and amount of fluid.
  • Reconnect the battery.
5. Test Drive and Monitor
  • Start the vehicle and let it warm up.
  • Test drive to ensure smooth shifting.
  • Check for leaks around the transmission pan.
