Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, small flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and the ignition is turned off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Sub-step 1: Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry open the key fob casing.
  • Sub-step 2: Remove the old battery from the key fob.
  • Sub-step 3: Insert the new battery (CR2032) ensuring the positive side is facing up.
  • Sub-step 4: Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Sub-step 1: Sit in the vehicle with all doors closed.
  • Sub-step 2: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to position 2 (do not start the engine).
  • Sub-step 3: Within 30 seconds, press the unlock button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
  • Sub-step 4: Turn the ignition off and remove the key. Test the key fob functionality.
4. Inspect Central Locking System
  • Sub-step 1: If the key fob still does not work, access the central locking module located under the driver’s side dashboard.
  • Sub-step 2: Check for any loose or damaged wiring connections.
  • Sub-step 3: Test the module with the OBD-II scanner for any fault codes.
